Easyjet is the largest budget airline in the UK and it has a booking system which can sometimes be rather complicated. However, there are several hidden tricks that you can take advantage of to lower the cost of your Easyjet flights even further.
Take advantage of flexi-fares
Every airlines’ prices fluctuate with the levels of demand, particularly around school holidays. However, Easyjet have ‘flexifares’ which allow you to switch the date of your flight for free, although they are a little bit more expensive than standard fares. The idea behind this is to book a flexi fare on the same route at a less busy time, then change it to the date you want. Provided that there is capacity, you should be able to switch to it 24 hours after your original booking.
Know the refund trick
Easyjet has a little known price promise that allows you to get money back on your ticket if the price drops after booking. However, you must have booked directly through Easyjet. You also have to call Easyjet and they will send you a voucher to use against the cost of your next flight.
Duty free can boost your hand luggage allowance
Easyjet has a very strict hand luggage limit of one bag per person. However, you are allowed a carrier bag from Duty Free, so use this to carry any belongings you might need for the flight, or even stuff that doesn’t really fit in your hand luggage.
Take a holdall rather than a suitcase
A holdall not only holds more stuff than a suitcase, it’s also more likely to fit into the overhead lockers no matter what size it is. Airport staff are also more likely to let a holdall through even if it doesn’t quite fit in the luggage bin that you are asked to use to prove your suitcase is to size.
Know when flights are released for best prices
Easyjet releases their flights at different times, so if you pounce as soon as they’re on sale, you’re more likely to get the best price. Use this as a quick guide:

On busy flights, passengers are often asked to check in their hand luggage free of charge. If you do this, remember to put a small bag with what you’ll need for the flight inside.
Consider how you pay
