Eurostar is a high speed railway service that connects London to Paris and Brussels. In the UK, Eurostar services depart from St. Pancras and travel to destinations around Europe. The most popular destination is Paris, where the train arrives into the Gare Du Nord. Other destinations served include: Brussels, Calais, Disneyland Resort and Lille. If you depart from Europe, you can use Eurostar services to travel to the likes of Bruges, Amsterdam, Germany, Antwerp, Geneva and the French & Swiss Alps. Prices can start from £56 return (London-Paris) and it is best to try and book early.
For your convenience, you can also book hotels at the same time as you book your train journey. The hotels have been handpicked by Eurostar and you can choose from boutique, budget or high-end, depending on how extravagant or frugal you wish to be during your trip. Using Eurostar, you can also develop your trip by arranging car hire, so that you may travel around your destination at your leisure. You can also book your single trip travel insurance, so you can relax and know that if anything bad happens, you’re covered.
If you are under the age of 26 and you like the sound of a European adventure- Eurostar has special youth rates available. You could even travel to Paris and then go inter-railing around Europe before getting the Eurostar back to London- the choice is yours.
One of the benefits of travelling on Eurostar rather than by aeroplane is that there is no luggage weight restriction. You can take two pieces of luggage and one piece of hand luggage. If you would like to take more than that, you just need to register online. Pushchairs and prams can travel for free in addition to your luggage allowance.
If you regularly travel by Eurostar, you can take advantage of loyalty programmes. If you travel for leisure, you should use Eurostar Plus Points which gives you money back for future journeys. It is advised that you check in for your journey half an hour before it departs if not earlier. However, if you download the Eurostar app, not only can you book faster on the move but you can also check in by just scanning your phone. The app is available for Android devices as well as for iPhone. You can also use the app to keep track of any news about the Eurostar services such as planned engineering work, a change to departure times and more.
Please note that when checking in before you board, you will need your ticket and your passport. Check in works by using ticket barriers where you either insert your ticket or scan the code on your ticket.
How Can I Manage An Existing Booking?
If you have a Eurostar account, you simply need to log in and you will be able to view details of your existing bookings.
However, if you do not have a Eurostar account, you will need to use your train booking reference and the surname of a passenger on the booking you wish to amend.
Can I Upgrade My Eurostar Ticket?
If you have booked a ticket type with the appropriate flexibility, you can update your ticket online by visiting the “Manage A Booking” section of the Eurostar website.
However, you can also make an upgrade at your departure station by visiting the main Eurostar ticket desk before you check in.
Please note that upgrades are subject to availability and an upgrade fee.
How Do I Refund My Booking Online?
The first thing to do is to check your booking conditions to make sure that a refund or exchange is allowed. If you have booked a non-exchangeable or non-refundable ticket, Eurostar advises you to contact your travel insurance company to find out if you could make a claim.
If you could be due a refund or exchange, you will need to visit the “Manage A Booking” section of the Eurostar website, in the top right hand corner of the page.
If your booking is considered to be refundable, there will be a Refund button. You need to click this and follow the instructions displayed on the screen. After completing this process, you should receive an email confirming your refund. It might take up to 5 working days for the refund to appear in your account.

Eurostar was founded in 1994 and became classed as an international high speed operator in 2010. The main stations for the service are London St Pancras, Paris Gare du Nord and Brussels Midi/Zuid.
