Qatar Airways Baggage Allowance
Baggage Allowance on Qatar Airways flights varies depending on the length of the flight and where the flight is flying to. It also differs if you are flying in first class, from economy. Most journeys will allow two bags per passenger with each bag weighing no more than 32 kg. This is for regular flights to and from Brazil. For other flights, the allowance in economy class can drop to 23kg and remain the same in first class so it really is a case of checking your destination before assuming your baggage allowance. You will be made aware of the baggage allowance per passenger when you are booking your flight but if you wish to change this is and add more baggage to your booking you can do so by calling the contact number or logging back into your Qatar Airways account and reviewing your booking and selecting to add additional luggage. Please note that this will be subject to a fee and also any luggage that goes over the maximum baggage allowance will also be charged upon check in so please be sure to check you are definitely carrying the allowed amount of weight.
Qatar Airways Check – In
Qatar Airways does allow all passengers to check in when they arrive at the airport if checking in online is not feasible. It is easy to check in online with Qatar Airways and as previously mentioned, just head over to their website and log into your own account. Once you have selected the option to check in, you can follow the simple instructions before being asked to select your seat and add any last minute passenger details, once your seats have been selected, your check-in is completed and you will be presented with printable boarding passes that will need to be shown when boarding your flight or if you have any bags that need to be checked into the hold. If you have downloaded the mobile version of the Qatar Airways website, you can opt to check in online and you will then be presented with a mobile boarding pass that you can store in your phone and show this as your boarding pass. This is extremely quick and convenient and also contributes to the environment by saving paper. Qatar Airways encourages online check in by offering a 10% gift voucher to be spent in Qatar Duty Free shops which is easily retrievable when you have checked in online and can be printed along with your boarding passes. If you want to check in online it will open 48 hours before your flight is due to depart and will close 90 minutes before the flight’s departure. Once you have checked in online you will be unable to add any additional baggage to your booking. They also recommend that you keep all tickets and passports to hand to ensure a quick and smooth check-in process. Checking in online still means that you must go to the bag drop desk if you have baggage that needs to go into the hold, which still means queuing.
