GoEuro.co.uk has teamed up with GetYourGuide to rate the locations across the world that are both used in the Star Wars films and must-see attractions for die hard fans. We’ve compiled a list from their list of our favourites, accompanied with information on how to get there. The list includes some locations which will be used in December’s Episode VII: The Force Awakens, so if you visit these before then, you’ll have to use your imagination!

Legoland, Windsor

star wars 1

Take a trip to a Galaxy far far away without even leaving the UK. You can enjoy seven of the most famous scenes from the six films as well as a scene from the animated series, all made entirely out of 1.5 million Lego bricks. Retrace the major events of the saga in a chronological format. This attraction is perfect for young fans or even those who haven’t seen the film yet. The exhibit is also available at Legoland LA and Orlando in the USA.

Go Euro’s ‘Strength of the Force’ Rating: 5*

How to get there: For hotels close to Legoland UK, contact Premier Inn.

Locations across Tunisia

So much of Star Wars was filmed across Tunisia that some people take 7 day holidays to the country specifically to see them all!

Lars Homestead and Tatooine Desert Scenes- Matmata, Tunisia

starwars2

This traditional Berber building was used to film the interior of the Lars homestead on Tatooine. Today, it’s a hotel which is still open to visitors and the bar area has plenty of Star Wars memorabilia to keep fans happy. You can even dine in the Lars dining room, decorated specifically for Episode IV: A New Hope.

How to get there: Book a room at Hotel Sidi Driss by using Trivago.

Exterior of Lars Homestead- Chott el Djerid

sw3

The man made craters of this location is where audiences are first introduced to Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Fans often travel to this area to recreate the scene where Skywalker stares up at Tatooine’s twin suns.

How to get there: Flights to Tunisia are available from the likes of Thomas Cook.

Greenham Common, UK

sw4

Since September 2014, this area was a hive of filming activity. A drone accidentally captured footage of a half built Millenium Falcon and an X Wing Fighter, prompting speculation that it will feature in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. This was confirmed when several main actors and many extras were spotted here.

Go Euro’s Strength of the Force rating: 3*

How to get there: The closest airport is Southampton and you can get a bus to the area itself- check out First Bus‘ timetable.

The City of Theed, Naboo- Plaza de Espaná, Seville

sw5

Although the scenes featuring this location in Episode I: The Phantom Menace and Episode II: Attack of the Clones were heavily edited, this area is still recognisable. Those who visit should head to the bridge fourth from the left, as this is where the majority of the action took place.

Go Euro’s Strength of the Force Rating: 3*

How to get there: Many budget airlines fly to Seville, including Ryanair.

Madame Tussauds, London & Berlin

sw6

Since earlier this year, both the London and Berlin Madame Tussauds have brand new exhibits featuring new Star Wars figures. Visitors can fully immerse themselves in the experience by having your photo taken stood next to a lifesize Chewbacca or kicking back in the Cantina with Han Solo. This exhibition is a must visit for any fan!

Go Euro’s Strength of the Force Rating: 4*

How to get there: If you’re based in the UK, why not take a train to London or hire a car.

Skellig Michael, Ireland

sw7

There seems to be overwhelming speculation that Skellig Michael will feature in the Force Awakens as Luke Skywalker’s refuge, or be where he has chosen to build a Jedi Academy. It could also be a whole new planet. Either way, it’s exciting to visit and then look out for it in the film.

Go Euro’s Strength of the Force Rating: 4*

How to get there: The closest airport is Shannon Airport, with many airlines such as Aer Lingus flying there. You can then hire a car to get to Skellig Michael.

Rancho Obi Wan, USA

sw8

Rancho Obi Wan is home of the world’s largest private Star Wars collection, with the owner building his collection since the mid 70’s. The ranch is a non-profit organisation which offers tours from the owner of the collection, who is more than willing to answer any questions. The ranch has plenty of rave reviews and is perfect for every type of fan, from the casual to the hardcore.
