A Flybe flight going from Southern England to Dublin was forced to make an emergency landing last week, due to a bee becoming trapped in the plane’s instruments. NO JOKE!

The plane had been up in the air for maybe 10 minutes before the pilot realised there was something wrong with the navigational systems. Once he had identified the cause, he decided to turn back to Southampton over concern about passengers and crew.

Due to this unforeseen circumstance, the flight was delayed by approximately 2 hours. Of course, there were a few grumbles from passengers, but we’re sure they’d rather be delayed than to be stung by a bee or worse.

Unfortunately, the bee didn’t survive the ordeal.  But Flybe regrets any inconvenience experienced by passengers and, of course, the bee.

Better to bee safe than sorry, though.
