September is the perfect time to go on holiday as the prices drop and the kids go back to school, but the weather is still nice and warm in most places. Here are some of the best places to go for a last-minute September getaway.
Menorca
In September, the temperatures in Menorca are still in the mid to late twenties. The slightly milder post-summer weather makes it ideal for walking coastal trails before heading back to your hotel for a lazy, late afternoon dip in the pool. Morocco
The scorching summer temperatures of Morocco calm down slightly in September. You can choose from the buzzy city of Marrakech, where you can stroll around the markets and listen to the snake charmers, or alternatively head down to the coast of Essaouira, a beachy town where the vibe is a little bit more chilled out. Southern Italy

Eastern Canada
For somewhere a little further afield, head to the friendly area of Eastern Canada for an unforgettable late summer holiday- visit the national gallery in Ontario and have dinner in the revolving restaurant of Toronto. Finish your holiday with a trip to the spectacular Niagara Falls, where the Maid of the Mist will take you right into the heart of the action. The Deep South
Texas and the rest of the Deep South reaches incredibly hot temperatures in the summer. However, in September, the nights get a little cooler, so it’s the best time to put on your cowboy hat and head out to the desert. Enjoy home cooking and country music in Mississippi, before heading to Louisana for a true melting pot of cultural influences. Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is an island close to India which is often overlooked by travellers. When you visit in September, the temperatures have cooled down, courtesy of the monsoon.
