Air India is a Star Alliance member airline which can connect UK passengers with 35 international destinations. From London Heathrow Airport you can enjoy direct connections to the likes of Amritsar, Delhi, Mumbai and many more destinations if you do not mind a short stopover. Air India Check In
You can check in online for your Air India flight to avoid risking any last minute delays. You’ll need your electronic ticket number and passenger information to do so and you can print your boarding pass yourself. Alternatively, self-service kiosks are available at certain airports for domestic flights. There are also city booking offices in selected cities for passengers who are only travelling with hand luggage. Lastly, you can check in using your mobile phone before collecting your print-out at the check in desk.
Air India Baggage Allowance
Economy passengers are given a baggage allowance of 25kgs for adults/children and 10kgs for infants. Upgrades are available for Flying Returns members. For your hand luggage you are allowed one bag and a personal item such as handbag or laptop.

Air India Express is the budget airline division of Air India which provides flights throughout India and the Middle East for a low cost. The planes are economy-only, but free standardized meals and some inflight entertainment is included. The fleet is made up of new 19 B737-800 aircraft.

Air India Business Class
When you fly with Air India, Business class is known as Executive class. You can relax in spacious cabins which have comfortable seats, enjoy delicious food accompanied by wine, check in for the flight at an exclusive facility to avoid queues and chill out in a lounge before you fly, depending on your departure airport.
When you fly First class, you can get comfortable in a reclining bed, enjoy cocktails and choose from a menu which has everything from lamb chops to omelettes and curries. You can enjoy a vintage wine or sparkling champagne alongside your meal before shopping duty-free with the Sky Bazaar.

“What Are The Limitations On Hand Luggage?”
Your carry-on luggage must be within the dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm (or 22″ x 16″ x 8″) and not weigh more than 8kgs. Children have the same hang luggage entitlement as adults.
As well as one item of hand luggage, you may be permitted to carry on one of the following personal items, but please bare in mind that this is subject to Security Regulations:
- A Lady’s hand bag.
- An overcoat or wrap.
- A rug or a blanket
- A camera or binoculars
- Reasonable amount of reading material for the flight.
- Infant’s feed for consumption during the flight and infant’s carrying basket, Feeding bottle, if an infant is carried.

“How Many People Can I Make Reservations For Online?”
In one online transaction, the maximum number of passengers that can be booked is 9. This includes both adults and children and infants are co-related to the amount of adults that are travelling.
There could be different limitations in Business and First class, depending on the aircraft.
“What Payment Methods Are Accepted Online?”
You can pay by:
- Master credit cards
- Visa credit cards
- Amex credit cards
- Certain debit cards
- Net banking

You can currently only use Amex for online bookings when the journey originates from India, USA, UK, Europe, Japan and Singapore or for domestic travel within India. When your payment is successful, you will be sent an Itinerary receipt via email.
