National Express has announced it will run an airport service to Stansted Airport on Christmas Day. It will offer six services in total, with three from London and three from Norwich. There will be no rail services at the airport on that day, as the rail network across the country is shut down for the festivities.
The National Express coach services will depart from the bus station in Norwich at 8.30, 12.30 and 17.00, calling at Newmarket, Thetford, Cambridge, Stansted Airport, Stratford and London. Services which travel in the opposite direction will depart from London Victoria at 8.30, 13.30 and 18.30.
On Boxing Day, National Express will run almost a full schedule of coach services to Stansted with 72 departures from London alone, whilst normal services will resume from the likes of Oxford, Birmingham and Ipswich. A spokesperson for National Express said the company was ‘pleased’ to add Stansted to its network of Christmas Day services.
A representative for Stansted Airport said around 3,000 people are expected to use the airport during Christmas day, adding he was ‘sure’ many of them would take advantage of National Express’ services.
