As much as we hate to admit it, the summer is drawing to a close. The classic summer holiday resorts cool off by October and Ibiza is no exception. Following a season of wild parties, the world’s best DJs and the final summer of Carl Cox’s Space residency, it’s almost time for the bars to put away their fishbowls, the promoters to take off their yellow vests and the tourists to head home. Let’s take a look at how the season will wrap up, starting with this weekend’s iconic Radio 1 Weekend in Ibiza.
4-6th August: Radio 1 Weekend
The week leading up to the Radio 1 weekend is definitely Ibiza’s busiest. It’s more expensive and the promoters will work even harder to get you to go to their nights, but it’s all worth it once the Friday rolls around. Every year, BBC Radio 1 pack up their equipment and decamp to Ibiza, starting with a live breakfast show broadcast from Café Mambo. Then, in the night time, the station hosts a huge free party at Ushuaia Beach Hotel in Playa D’En Bossa. This year, expect sets from Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Danny Howard, B Traits, George Fitzgerald, Heidi, Mistajam, DJ Target and Kolsch. Didn’t get tickets? It’s all going to be broadcast live on the station, followed by a live essential mix from Carl Cox. On Saturday 5th, tune in from 4pm for exclusive dance anthems with Danny Howard broadcast live from the ultimate sunset party destination, Café Mambo, followed by Mistajam. The Radio 1 weekend has long heralded the reputation for being the best time for music on the island, and with a line-up like this, it isn’t hard to see why.
1st September- Blue Ibiza closing party- Ushuaia
Blue Ibiza is the night to choose for summer house music. It’s also the first closing party to take place, but not the last at Ushuaia. From 5pm, you can see Oliver Heldens, Lost Frequencies, Klingande + Lovely Laura, Feder, and Jonas Blue take to the decks. It’s expected to sell out so make sure to get your tickets if you’re going to be on the island.
4th September- Craig David TS5 Pool Party- Ibiza Rocks Hotel

Following his comeback of the decade (that’s right, we went there!), Craig David took his TS5 set to the White Isle to roaring success. From his Snapchat story, the set has looked insane with a mixture of classic Craig, old school anthems and new beats. It will all come to a close on the 4th of September, so make sure you’re there When the Bassline Drops…
7th September- Axwell Ingrosso closing party- Ushuaia
Every Wednesday, Axwell and Ingrosso, formerly of Swedish House Mafia, take to the stage at Ushuaia for an evening of pop-tinged dance music. They’ll bring some of their friends along for the ride and for the closing party, you’ll see Lost Frequencies, Lucas & Steve and Nick Martin. The event finishes at midnight, but you’re in the heart of Playa D’en Bossa at this venue so Ibiza is your oyster!
13th September- Hardwell closing party- Ushuaia
Ushuaia is fast emerging as the best venue for music in Ibiza, and this closing party is no exception as Dutch DJ Hardwell brings his electrifying EDM set to the hotel. Expect laser beams, dancers and a night you won’t forget with support from the likes of Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano as well as Chocolate Puma. It will sell out, so get your tickets soon.
14th September- Ibiza Rocks Closing Party With Wolf Alice- Ibiza Rocks Hotel
For the last 11 years, Ibiza Rocks has brought live music to the heart of San Antonio. Celebrating another successful season, the hotel will host a closing party on the 14th September featuring one of 2016’s standout bands, Wolf Alice.
15th September- Steve Aoki Neon Future closing party- Ushuaia
2016 saw the introduction of Steve Aoki’s debut Ibiza residency at, you guessed it, Ushuaia. Surprisingly, there has only been five dates throughout the season but they have been an incredible success, with one reviewer noting “Aoki does not have fans, but passionate followers, all of which he undoubtedly deserves”
15th September- Cream closing party- Amnesia
This summer, the iconic Cream club night managed to bag Fatboy Slim for what is remarkably, his first ever Ibiza residency. From the reviews, we’re sure it won’t be the last. For the closing party, expect to see sets from the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Will Atkinson and Fatboy Slim himself live from the terrace.
16th September- Tinie Tempah Disturbing Ibiza closing party- Ushuaia
Following his super successful pool party residency last year at the Hard Rock Hotel, Tinie’s been back with his Disturbing Ibiza party nights at where else but Ushuaia. For the final hurrah, expect to see DJ Target, Jillionaire and of course, Mr Tempah himself take to the stage.
20th September- Space: The Final Chapter- Space
Following the news this year that Space will close its doors and Ushuaia will take over from next year, legendary resident DJ Carl Cox will step down. Sadly, for the last Music is Revolution night, all the tickets were sold in record time, so if you’re reading this and you don’t have one, you’re too late. There will a few other opportunities to party at Space before the end of the season, so if you’ve never been, now is the time.
20th September- Together closing party- Amnesia
Together at Amnesia is another iconic club night, combining powerful house DJs with the best of bass. In the main room, residents Chase & Status and Rudimental have been bringing their influential style to the booth, whilst on the terrace, the brilliant Hannah Wants has been in residency with Gorgon City to showcase the best of house. For the closing party, you can see Chase & Status, Wilkinson, Hannah Wants and DJ EZ.
23rd September- Judgement closing party- Eden
For 16 incredible years, Judge Jules has been at the forefront of the San Antonio clubbing scene. Judgement Sundays have been transformed into Judgement Fridays and with that transformation comes a visual spectacle of UV lights, parades and dancers. For the closing party, expect to see the man himself as well as 99 Souls, Anton Powers and Son of 8.
24th September- Zoo Project closing party- Benimussa Park
Since its inception, Zoo Project has become one of the most unique, must attend parties in Ibiza. Every Saturday, attendees get painted up to the nines as their favourite zoo animal and head down to Benimussa Park for an open air party like no other. Rave in a seal pit, or take a breather in the pool area. There’s even a Noah’s Ark pre pool party to get involved with.
25th September- Sundays at Space closing party- Space
Here comes your second opportunity to party at the iconic Space in its original form. For over a decade, We Love… nights have ruled the club, but this year they’ve had to share the crowd with newbie Do Not Sleep. For the closing party, you’ll be getting down to the likes of Capulet, Derrick Carter and Jason Bye.
26th September- Shelter closing party- Sankeys
Each Friday, following the W.A.R party at Ibiza Rocks, Sankeys hosts the best in new house music with the Shelter club night. If you are an Ibiza Rocks guest, your ticket is included, but even if you’re not it’s a great night with a young, British crowd coming together.
30th September- Ocean Beach closing party- Ocean Beach Club
When the Ocean Beach Club opened its doors a few years ago, it fast cemented itself as one of the best daytime party spots on the island. Throw on your best swimwear, drink lots of champagne and listen to some of the best DJs Ibiza has to offer. At the closing party, expect to see aerial performances and amazing summer beats.
2nd October- Space closing party- Space
This is the big one. The last ever night at Space. Regular attendees are predicting that this could go on until well after midday the next day, so if you go, make sure you buckle up for a session! Tickets are due to be released anytime soon, so don’t miss out.
5th October- Martin Solveig My House closing party- Pacha
For this Wednesday fiesta, Martin Solveig has been bringing along with him some of the biggest names in house music to play the sounds of the future. The closing party lineup is no exception, with Shadow Child, Billy Kenny and Danny Wade taking to the decks alongside Solveig.
6th October- F**k Me I’m Famous closing party- Pacha
Arguably the most famous DJ in the world, David Guetta, brings his iconic songs to Pacha every Thursday night for one of Ibiza’s most notorious parties. Even some of David’s best collaborators such as Snoop Dogg and Usher have dropped in on the event in previous years. For the closing party this year, see Robin Schulz and Glowinthedark do their thing.
8th October- Pure Pacha closing party- Pacha
Ending Pacha’s season in style, the Pure Pacha closing party will see Bob Sinclar alongside Todd Terry, DJ Sneak and Danny Howard in the booth. The theme is Paris by Night and you can expect to leave the serious techno faces at the door, putting on your fun faces and enjoying dance music.
10th October- Circoloco closing party- DC-10
The final event on the closing calendar is the Circoloco closing party at DC-10, an underground haven for techno lovers. The lineup hasn’t been confirmed yet but given that DJs queue up to play this night, we’re expecting it to be a big one.
