Airline Emirates has announced that it has increased the number of flights to Bangladesh and India and has also expanded capacity on its Lebanon route. Last week, they announced that they had increased frequency to Dhaka and Kolkata to 21 and 13 respectively. On the Kolkata route, the capacity has been increased with an aircraft upgrade to the Boeing 777-200 and the airline will be introducing its First Class cabin to passengers travelling throughout India.
The additional flights offered mean that there will now be convenient connections with Emirates’ West Asia and Indian Ocean network from 17 Middle Eastern, 37 European and 10 American destinations.
Ahmed Khoory, Emirates’ Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations said:

Increasing our presence in the West Asian region allows travellers to connect seamlessly from other flights on Emirates’ global network whilst experiencing our award-winning product and service.”
The new flight will operate on Wednesdays, Emirates flight EK 572 departs from Dubai International Airport at 1pm and arrives in Kolkata at 19.15pm. The return flight will depart at 20.30pm arriving in Dubai at 00.05 hours.
The airline is also upgrading both of its aircrafts serving Beirut to be both Boeing 777s. The Airbus 330-200 which is currently used on one of Beirut’s two daily flights will be upgraded to a larger Boeing 777-200LR from June, giving a 12 per cent boost to seat capacity. The second aircraft will also be upgraded, giving a 53 per cent boost to seat capacity.
