Airline British Airways has refurbished its business class lounge in Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport.

The lounge, Club World Galleries South, has been given a new furniture layout amongst other features. There is a brand new plush carpet as well as refurbished oak wooden floors.

The Director of Customer Experience for the airline said that it is very important to the company that premium customers who use Club World to fly, begin their journey on the ground with the best service and in the best surroundings. This is because it will ensure they are comfortable and relaxed ahead of a long flight.

The Club World lounge refurbishment follows a previous upgrade to the First lounge at Heathrow, which took place back in February this year.

The refurbishment comes as British Airways announced that they would no longer run flights on the London- Baku network from April 29th 2016. According to the airline, the reason for ceasing the flights is because of a lack of demand. However, they did not rule out resuming flights on the route in future. At the moment, British Airways has flights from London to Baku (and vice versa) six times a week.

Baku is the capital of Azerbaijan and is also used as the main commercial hub. The city is most famous for its medieval Old City, which looks almost bizarre in contrast to the architecturally astounding skyscrapers of the new town. Some travel experts describe it as ‘the love child of Dubai and Paris’.
