It barely seems like it’s been five minutes since the Easter holidays, yet we will soon have the May half term school holidays. The cost of going away over this period can be expensive for families who have a low income, but there are some great deals out there at the moment which can make it more affordable.

Travelodge-15% discount

If you’re planning a staycation this half term, Travelodge is offering 15% off all rooms at the moment. You can get a family room for just £26. The code is valid until midnight on the 28th of April, for rooms booked for the period between 9th May and 26th June. Legoland- 26% off one day tickets

When you book a day trip to Legoland in advance, you can get 26% off (for booking a week in advance). If you book between 2-6 days in advance, you’ll save 20%. Best of all, in the UK climate, if it rains for an hour or more during your visit, you’ll get a free one day return visit.

Butlins- £40 off any break over half term

You can currently get £40 off any break at Butlins over the May half term, with the discount being automatically redeemed at checkout. The resort also has a first child eats free offer, where your youngest child will dine for free throughout your stay.

Eurocamp- Camp in France for £40 a night

Sleep in a chalet (up to six people) and pay per night rather than per head. The company has lots of campsites with different things to appeal to families. Le-Ty Nadan campsite is ideal for activities such as kayaking and paint balling. For beaches, the Des Menhirs campsite is close to Brittany. For entertainment, there is the L’Atlantique campsite.

Disneyland Paris- 25% off

Disneyland Paris consists of two theme parks, resort hotels, shopping and entertainment. Plus, your child could meet their favourite characters. If you book for half term you could save 25% when you stay at certain hotels such as Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Newport Bay Club or Disney’s Hotel New York.

Legoland- Kids go free

Book a break at Legoland and you can get free entry for a child up to the age of 15 with each adult who pays full price. This offer is valid on certain dates throughout 2016, including the May half term. Each package will include entry to the Legoland resort, an overnight stay at a hotel, breakfast and your 2nd day free.

Flybe- Europe flights sale

Flybe has began a Summer Blockbuster sale with a million seats down to just £24.99 one way. This is for a range of destinations such as Belfast, Amsterdam, Prague and Madrid. It’s valid for travel between the 23rd May and 31st October.

Pontins- £70 family breaks and a free entertainment pass

You can get a last minute family break for £70 at six Pontins resorts. Each member of the family will also receive a free entertainment pass to use throughout their stay.

Eurostar- £29 sale

Eurostar has a seat sale for trains from London St Pancras throughout the half term break for just £29 one way. You could visit Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam or Geneva from £58 return.
